What to Expect After Your First Treatment
Shockwave therapy can be uncomfortable initially followed by a decrease in pain immediately following treatment. 2-4 hours after treatment patients may experience: Bruising, redness, and temporary worsening of symptoms. These side effects are temporary and should resolve quickly.
Things you should do…
Following treatment, it is recommended patients avoid physical activity for 48 hours to the area treated. Rest is best.
Avoid anti-inflammatory medications and ice as these may interfere with your body’s natural self-healing abilities.
Gradually returning to isometric or eccentric exercises following treatment may be recommended by your doctor.
